Alex Bruin is an associate in the Estate Planning and Taxation Groups at Henderson, Caverly, Pum & Charney LLP, where he assists clients in estate planning, estate and trust administration, and a variety of other tax matters.
Mr. Bruin received his LL.M. in Taxation, with Honors and Highest Distinction, in 2016 from Loyola Law School, graduating with a perfect GPA of 5.0 in his LL.M. classes. He also received his law degree in 2016 from Loyola Law School, where he graduated in the Top 25% of his class and made the Dean’s Honor List as a third-year student.
During his time at Loyola Law School, Mr. Bruin received the First Honors Award, a designation to the individual who receives the highest grade in a given class, on six separate occasions, including such classes as: Federal Income Tax, Corporate Taxation, Partnership Taxation, Tax Practice and Procedure, Advanced Federal Tax Research and Planning, and State and Local Taxation.
While at Loyola Law School, Mr. Bruin also received Third Place in the 2016 ABA Section of Taxation 15th Annual Law Student Tax Challenge at the Midyear Meeting in Los Angeles.
Mr. Bruin received his bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of New Mexico in 2011.
Mr. Bruin is a member of the California State Bar Association, Trusts and Estates Section and the San Diego County Bar Association, Taxation and Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Sections.
