Brian P. Tsu

Partner

Brian Tsu is a partner in the Estate Planning, International Private Client and Taxation Groups at Henderson, Caverly, Pum & Charney LLP. Mr. Tsu advises high net worth clients in the areas of domestic and international estate and charitable planning, with particular emphasis on domestic and international business succession planning, related business entity taxation and fiduciary income taxation. Mr. Tsu also advises clients in the context of complex estate and trust administration, particularly when tax on international issues are present.

Mr. Tsu was selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America for 2016 and 2017 in the area of Trusts and Estates. Mr. Tsu is a Certified Specialist in both (1) Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law and (2) Taxation Law, each by the State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization.

Mr. Tsu received his LL.M. in Taxation in 2009, from Northwestern University School of Law, received his J.D. in 2004, from the University of Dayton School of Law, received his M.S. in Professional Accounting in 2002, from Seton Hall University and his B.S. in Accounting in 2000, from Boston College. Mr. Tsu is admitted to practice law in California, Illinois and before the U.S. Tax Court. He is also a registered certified public accountant (Illinois).

Mr. Tsu is a regular speaker and contributing member of the American Bar Association, Tax and Real Property, Trust & Estate Sections; the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP); the State Bar of California, Taxation and Trusts & Estate Sections; the California Society of CPAs;  and the San Diego County Bar Association, Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Section. At Henderson, Caverly, Pum & Charney LLP, Mr. Tsu is the partner-in-charge of the firm’s Associate Development Program.

Prior to joining Henderson, Caverly, Pum & Charney LLP in 2011, Mr. Tsu was a tax, trusts and estates associate at a Chicago law firm.
